The Beast Within

It rises
in the chest
like an
elephant,
it never forgets.
Pain, familiar,
binding, arriving
with heavy steps.
Bitterness, eclipsed
by cursed words
moving across
wounded lips;
a poison kiss
crying out for
Apocalypse
an End to this,
untenable,
regrettable...

Let it go.

Everything is temporal.
Uncage the animal.
Feel in full.

Tame the pain,
an infinite game -
there is never
a point in blame.
Just resolve,
absolve,
evolve,
for it will rise
again,
an elephant
from deep
within the chest;
Unrest,
a test -
we are
uniquely blessed:

It is from the beasts within we learn the best.

Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames.
